한미모델협회(Korean American Modeling Association USA)는 미주 한인사회에서는 처음으로 시니어모델들의 단체로 2019년 창립되었고, 2021년 연방정부에 비영리단체로 등록되었다. 각종 의료기술의 발달과 건강정보의 홍수로 이제는 6,70대들은 노인이라 하지 않고 Young Adult 또는 Young Old 라고 부르며 여전히 열정적으로 행복을 추구하며 당당한 시니어의 삶을 보여주고 있다. 그뿐 아니라  시니어들은 육체적 건강과 함께 시간적 경제적 중심축에 서 있기도 하다. 2019년 열린 제 1회 시니어 모델 선발대회에서는 주최측의 예상을 뒤엎고 타주 및 한국에서까지 400여명의 지원자가 몰려 각계각층에서 당당하고 멋진 시니어의 삶을 영위하고 있음을 보여주었고 치열한 경쟁률을 뚫고 58명이 합격하였다. 시니어 모델로 선발된 1기 회원들은 단체로 교육과 훈련을 거치면서 시니어들이 모이면 큰 힘이 된다는 것을 공감하였다. 패션쇼나 광고등의 모델로서 뿐이 아니라 각자의 삶을 통한 재능과 노하우로 더 나은 삶을 일구는 데도 한몫 할수 있다는 자신감도 갖게 됐다. 또 타민족과의 교류에도 앞장서며 한국의 역사와 문화및 예술의 전령사도 되고 소외계층을 지원하는 봉사활동에도 적극 나서 다같이 잘사는 사회운동을 이끌고 동참하기로 했다. 따라서 한미모델협회는 비영리단체로서 지속적으로 시니어 모델을 선발하고 패션쇼를 개최하며 다양한 문화 행사나 공익 사업으로 시니어들을 위한세계를 만들어갈 것이다. 

We were founded as a nonprofit organization in 2021 as the first group dedicated to the Korean American senior fashion models in the USA. Our association was born from a group of 58 senior models who were selected out of 400 applicants for the first Silver Fashion Show at the Korean Festival held in LA in 2019. The fashion show, the most popular among the performances in the festival, showed that senior citizens were pursuing proud and wonderful lives even after entering their twilight years. We can contribute to the Korean American society by supporting and encouraging the active life styles of senior citizens, promoting the Korean culture and becoming role models for the younger generation. 

Our mission is:

• to promote an active lifestyle among senior citizens through growing and educating new senior fashion models and hosting silver fashion shows
• to promote the Korean culture by participating in various cultural and social events
• to help the underserved members of the society through volunteer activities
